Lady Du Expresses Apology After Criticising Tyla's Outfit at the 2024 Met Gala

Lady Du has expressed her regret to Tyla and her admirers for their criticism of the costume she wore at the Met Gala in 2024. Lady Du was spotted slamming Tyla's attire in an Instagram post that went viral. She said that Tyla would have been more slaying if she had worn an African Print instead of the bespoke sand costume that Olivier Rousteing had made for her.

“Imagine if she came wearing AFRICAN print or maxhosa!!!! That would have been a show stopper but this also is πŸ”₯πŸ”₯,” she posted.

Fans of Tyla were not pleased with this, as they believed that Lady Du lacked even the most fundamental understanding of the Met Gala event, which is why she made such an idiotic comment. Lady Du has published a statement in which she apologises to Tyla and her followers, stating that she did not want to cause any pain and that she has always been a huge admirer of the Water hitmaker.

“Guys let me apologise I didn’t know what the theme or occasion was, I saw after I commented. ❀️❀️❀️❀️ I’m a huge supporter of local brands I commented without knowing what’s going on as y’all know I don’t do red carpet events at all. I’m not informed on a lot of things. I’m literally a plain Jane nje. If I offended anyone by mentioning maxhosa askies β€οΈβ€οΈπŸ™ŒπŸΌπŸ™ŒπŸΌπŸ™ŒπŸΌ have a great day. πŸ™ŒπŸΌπŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜.. I love tyla y’all know I’ve been supporting her way before water ❀️❀️❀️ like every other artist I post on my wall. Danko πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™ I only go on socials to post my things if I come across something I’ll comment, like or share. I support everyone πŸ™.” she penned in a tweet.

While attending the Met Gala 2024, Tyla's sand-molded gown, which was a reference to the sands of time, captured the attention of everyone in attendance. Olivier Rousteing was accountable for the creation of the outfit.
