With the release of her brand-new single, "Love Me Jeje," Tems has made an official comeback. Born in the Wild, her highly awaited first album, will be released next month.

Tems taps into the Nigerian word "Jeje," which translates to "softly" or "gentle," with poignant lyrics and a groove flecked with guitars: Tems sings, "Day and night, it's unconditional, got me living softly/Love me JeJe, love me tender: If not you, then I don't wanna know, I don't want no story."

"Love Me Jeje," penned by Tems, incorporates a sample from Seyi Sodimu's 1997 popular song of the same name. Guiltybeatz and Spax created the song.

Despite being Born in the Wild's first official release, "Love Me Jeje," the album's release date and track listing are still unknown. Tems debuted a brief trailer for the album earlier this month, purportedly showcasing a portion of the album's lead single.

Six years after Tems released "Mr. Rebel," her debut song from 2018, Born in the Wild is now available. Since then, she's had a number of hits of her own, including 2020's "Damages" and 2022's "Free Mind." She also had notable cameos on Wizkid's 2021 hit song "Essence" and 2022 song "Wait for U," featuring Future and Drake.

In 2020, Tems launched her debut EP, For Broken Ears, and in 2021, she published If Orange Was a Place. She released two new songs, "Me & U" and "Not an Angel," last year.

Tems recently finished her first-ever two weekends of performances at Coachella. She famously invited Justin Bieber and Wizkid to a special performance of "Essence" on the first weekend. She now has a couple more summertime engagements booked, including a festival performance in the Netherlands and a July visit at the renowned Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.
